What is FleetOnAir and how does it work?
FleetOnAir is a fleet management platform that brings vehicles, drivers, documents, deadlines and vehicle handovers into one system, with GPS tracking and telematics available as extensions. It can work with existing GPS and telematics devices as well as OEM vehicle data. The platform is modular, so you can start with the scope your fleet needs today and expand it when needed.
Does FleetOnAir require GPS devices? Can I use my existing hardware?
Not in every setup. Fleet Starter covers vehicle, document, deadline and handover management without GPS tracking. Fleet Tracker adds vehicle location, trip history, geofences and alerts. Data can come from devices supplied by FleetOnAir, compatible devices you already use or, where supported, directly from vehicle manufacturers through OEM integrations. The available data depends on the selected source.
How much does FleetOnAir cost?
Pricing depends on the selected plan, additional modules, how vehicle data is sourced and the size of your fleet. The cost of hardware, installation, implementation and integrations depends on the selected configuration and scope of work. What does the implementation process look like?
The implementation process depends on the size of your fleet, the scope of the system and how vehicle data is sourced. For plug-and-play OBD devices, installation in most passenger cars takes only a few minutes and does not require additional wiring. Wired installations and CAN configurations are handled by our certified installation partners. For larger fleets, we agree on an individual rollout schedule, which may also include data import, system configuration, integrations and user training.
How is fleet data protected, and how is driver privacy handled?
Fleet data is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored on servers located in the European Union. The system separates business and private trips and allows you to control who can access specific data. The organisation using FleetOnAir remains the data controller and is responsible for defining the purpose and legal basis for processing, informing drivers and establishing data retention rules. We provide a Data Processing Agreement and a list of subprocessors.
Can FleetOnAir integrate with our existing software and be extended with additional features?
Yes. FleetOnAir provides an open API and connectors to ERP, CRM and dispatch systems. Additional modules can be added to the base package, including pool car management, Dynamic Mileage, gamification and paid parking zones. If your organisation has processes that go beyond the standard scope, we can build custom functionality. A white-label option is also available. We define the scope of integrations and additional development with your team and price it individually.
Does FleetOnAir work for fleets operating internationally?
Yes. GPS devices supplied by FleetOnAir include an IoT SIM card with coverage across the European Union, the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland, with no additional roaming charges. If you use your own devices, coverage depends on the SIM card and mobile service used.
